Hard A

I went to watch Easy A the other day with some friends with the appreciated tickets from Contagious Network. To think it is just another teen movie, would be quite incorrect.

It has all the elements I could have asked for from a movie for a laid back afternoon; and of course Emma Stone made the movie that much better. It opens as a seemingly narrated and diary-esque movie with chapters of progression but it felt as if you were drawn into this teenage world of stereotypes and rumours. Having left Highschool for almost two years, I could relate back to what it was like being in such an environment (Been there done that, ya know?).

Emma Stone (whom I've totally adored since Superbad and Zombieland) was a great choice to play Olive Penderghast. Her real life dorky (I would say so) personality personified Olive's as a character in such a way that made her grow and thrive within the movie. Amanda Bynes as the religious girl gave another extra hit of comedy to the movie. I also can't keep myself from quoting Dan Byrd (Brandon). This is only the tip of the iceberg, there were so many more in the casts that made the movie enjoyable.

All in all, if you're there for some comedy that the whole family could enjoy (14-15+ - and even adults!) then definitely go watch this movie. :D

Now some screens from the movie:

Amanda Bynes - Marianne (Left), Emma Stone - Olive (Right)

BANG.

Final verdict - 9/10

Easy A was Hard to resist (So I watched it twice ^^,)

Like to Whip It?

Back on holidays now so trying to watch a few movies but been more into watching back to back episodes lol.

Bout 2 weeks ago, I got round to finally watching Whip It, starring Ellen Page and an assembly of other cast. It's about a girl, brought up 'conservatively' (well, its the way I see it - always listen your parents, do what they want you to do etcetcetc.) who finally breaks away and grow.
Drew Barrymore also multitasks by starring in the movie as a team mate and is also the director. Pretty epic. I'm kind of fond of Drew Barrymore, she's unique haha.
You'd probably like this movie if you liked Stick It or I guess if you liked Ellen Page from Juno. It's got humor, excitement and of course Roller Derby violence which makes it so freaking epic. To be honest, after watching the movie, I wanted to join a roller derby team and be aggressive xD.

I'm trying to get back my motive to update more and watch more movies :(. Anywayz, here are some screens from the movie.

Getting ready to start the aggression :L

The Hurl scouts. :3

Hopefully a new update soon.

Dear John

Dear John,

Might as well use the line from the movie lol. :)

So, it's been a while since I updated, about a week. Uni has just started again and I'm almost in over my head now. Exams are coming up in a couple of weeks and I'm freaking out so much... Ugggggh, stress STREEEESSS!.

I try to de-stress with a movie - 'Dear John'.

It started of quite nicely but it always had this element that reminded me of Notebook. Sweet young girl on spring/summer break meets boy and under circumferences, they can't see each other much after the break is over... anyways, Channing Tatum is actually alright for a guy buuuut he slurs his words ALOT lol... Amanda Seyfried was pretty good too, after having seen her blossoming (kinda haha) from Mean Girls to Jennifer's Body (might rewatch and review this later :P) to this. She played a very believable character and I couldn't help but empathize with the character (along with all the partners of those soldiers that are sent on tour). The characters kind of draws you into their lives. Although, I felt as though towards the end, it felt a little rushed...

If you liked Notebook, then you probably want to give this movie a go. :)

Now some images :D

His hair 's nice haha xD

Watchmen

I finally found the time and focus to watch Watchmen and tbh, the only reason I skimped out on it in the first place was because of the length of the movie itself. It's 3hrs long (almost... 2hrs and 40mins to be more precise).

I heard that you would either love it or absolutely hate it. My verdict, it was pretty good. I don't love it as much as I loved Kick Ass. The cast played their part well, except Nite Owl had a funny smile lol - but I just can't quite put my finger on why. Rorschach had a great voice and I can't get enough of his monologue/dialogue. If you like a movie with alot of twist and turn, this is definitely a must watch movie.

I've always been into the super heroes theme, so this would most likely be one of my top pick.

Overall, it can be watched for entertainment but it's so much more in dept that you'd be left wanting more or wanting to re-watch it for the sake of not missing anything.

Just some enticing images to go with the post. :)

Malin(Silk Spectre) is quite hot here. :P & Nite Owl with his weird smile haha

I loved his mask.

He's the epitome of epic buuut he's so overpowered that he could probably destroy himself.

KICK ASS

Finished my exam today and some friends and I bummed around in the city lol.

The exam was epically lame... hate post mortems and yet I can't stop myself from doing it. I effed up hard this time. :\

Afterward, we went and ate Thai. Nom nom nom. :D The pictures will prolly be up somewhere soon haha. Trust. :)

Then we went window shopped (well, with the exception of 2-3 others D:). Was fun lol, dressing up and such ^^,. Photos included.

But the highlight is the movie we watched. Two words.

Kick ASS.

It was awwwwwesssome, definitely one of my favourite films of 2010 already. :D The cast was great and although it didn't follow the comic book, it was still epic overall. I must say though that Hit Girl out played everybody and is the highlight of the movie. :) I'm sounding kind of pedo because she's prolly 12 years old but she had meld herself into the character and that is a feat.
In addition, the music score was another plus. Can't wait til the soundtrack set comes out and the movie itself. :D :D
Here are some images from the movie or of the movie haha. ^^,

Gotta love nerds. :P

One down, One to go :D

Finaaaally got an exam done. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but it was still difficult as hell...

Three more days until I can reactivate facebook and get a week off. Can't wait. I have rehabilitated for almost four weeks now so it should be interesting to see what new things have happened. I felt so deprived and yet liberating that I not so addicted to it, although it didn't help me that much in my distraction because I can always find something else to do. :)

I really need a life... :\

Love Wasting Time. Don't you?

So my studies are going so well... not... I watched a movie instead and surprisingly, it was pretty good.
Watched Cirque Du Freak: Vampire Assistant. I expected it to be some corny movie that was trying to follow the recent vampire trend but it wasn't. It had a great cast and the plot was exciting especially for a kid like me who loved going to circuses when I was younger.
Salma Hayek who acts as the bearded lady of freak shows made bearded ladies look hot and seductive. :P

I really wish I had more time to cram... I've only got list of movies I want to watch during my mid sem break haha.

Back to cramming... maybe... :)
